My first cooking class

I wanted to do something new and different this summer so I signed up to take 4 cooking classes at our local Viking Cooking School in Franklin, Tennessee! That's one of the great things of living in a wonderful big city ... you are close to lots of cool things like the Viking Institutes! Today was my first class, French Bistro! Our Menu was:

Salad of Greens, Walnuts, Roasted Beets and Chèvre
Roasted Chicken with Herb Butter, Onions and Garlic
Potato Galette
Green Beans with Butter (Haricots Verts au Beurre)
Apple Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream and Cognac

It was all delicious and so fun! We learned new techniques and after it was all prepared we sat down to enjoy a wonderful lunch. I can't wait until my next class...Cake Decorating!

This is such a great idea. I've been thinking about taking a cooking class too.

You're not going to believe this... there is a cooking class in Houston that sounded really interesting. Then I read it was for couples only! What... Oh well. I'll keep looking.

How fun! We were in Manhattan Beach yesterday and I saw a cooking academy. I think part of me would love to be a pastry chef.

I also really want to learn to sew. It is my dream to be able to make throw pillows :)

I changed the pics in the sidebar for you.

Congrats on your first cooking class! I took a cooking class at the Viking school in Franklin about two years ago, and I really enjoyed it. I learned how to make fresh mozzarella from the curd, which I do at home sometimes.
